LIVING WELL DIRECTOR

Executive Director

As an Executive Director, you will plan and direct all day-to-day functions of the Lifestyle communities in accordance with applicable company, federal, and Provincial.

 

As an Executive Director, you will plan and direct all day-to-day functions of the lifestyle communities in accordance with applicable company, federal, state, and local standards to promote that the highest degree of quality care is provided to its residents.

If you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university (preferred)
  • Three years related experience and/or education; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in supervising a retirement community or long-term care facility.
  • Registered Nurse license in good standing (preferred)
  • The ability to meet Provincial requirements for certified administrator (preferred); or have the ability to successfully pass core training and acquire administrator certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills utilizing the English language.
  • The ability to read, to analyze, and to interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, residents, families, team members, third party providers, and the general public.
  • The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • The ability to use Microsoft Windows, including Word and Excel. Ability to use email and the Internet.
  • An interest in working with a senior population.
  • The ability to manage people effectively by taking responsibility for subordinates’ activities;
  • The ability to make yourself available to staff. Provide regular performance feedback.  Develop subordinates’ skills and encourages growth.  Improve processes, products and services.
  • The ability to provide leadership by exhibiting confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well.
  • The ability to interact with guests, residents, their families, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • The ability to respond promptly to resident needs.
  • The ability to support organization’s goals and values.
  • The ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • The ability to delegate assignments.
  • Competency in organizational, time management skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A current and valid Ontario driver’s license consistent with the requirements determined by size of vehicle and laws of the Province of Ontario.
  • A personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Fleet Safety Policy
  • Doctor’s statement verifying you are free from communicable disease
  • Credit and criminal check
